To all our friends and family~
Howdy from Texas and Cheers from England! Yep, we are currently living in 2 separate countries, but only for a few more months. It has been a wild ride, but 2011 brought many blessings to our family. We knew Marshall would be retiring from the Air Force in March 2012, so Christy started applying for jobs in the US to prepare for our transition. God provided a wonderful job in San Antonio continuing to work as a civilian for the Air Force in human resources, but they needed Christy to move MUCH sooner than we planned. After much prayer, we knew the Lord had opened this door, even though we weren’t sure about the timing. However, we quickly learned the reason for His timing. Only months after accepting the position, the Air Force went into a complete hiring freeze due to budget constraints. We are so thankful for God’s generous provision and perfect timing, which means Marshall can pursue his college education as soon as he retires. This may surprise you, because Marshall had no intention of going to college. But God had another plan, and laid it on Marshall’s heart to pursue a degree in Christian Ministry. He is enrolled at Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio, and taking classes online until he moves here to attend classes on campus. In April, we flew to Texas and bought our new home. Then we flew back to England to pack up Christy and Hannah. In May, Christy graduated with her Master’s degree. In June, Hannah graduated high school, and Christy and Hannah moved to Texas. Hannah was accepted into college at The Art Institute of San Antonio and is attending classes with a major in Graphic Design. Thankfully, Marshall has been able to visit every 6-8 weeks and will be here again for Christmas. Then in March 2012, he will retire after 20 years of active duty service. 2011 brought more changes to our family than ever, but through it all we continue to be amazed at God’s blessings. We pray you will find the peace of the season in Him. Merry Christmas!
Marshall, Christy & Hannah
